Finally breaking these in :)
never gets old :D
Went to visit gramps again the other day and man auntie was all… I don’t think grampa is going to make it to his bday… That totally bummed me out :-/
My brother’s bday was yesterday at this Chinese restaurant in the heart of
Chinatown and man it was a crazy experience. A straight il hole in the wall restaurant with walls plastered of pictures of this Filipino fighter, incense galore, potted lucky plants, funky Asian vases, tables full of Filipino customers and Chinese workers that don’t speak English… It was seriously a strange setting and it made me forget I was even I’m la for a moment. Since it was a mile stone bday for my brother, me and mom arrived a little dressed up but realized we came too over dressed. The place served a ton of food that was alright but ultimate shocker was when it came time to sing happy bday for my brother. They straight up blasted a Filipino rendition of happy birthday…so loud and kept on playing popular Filipino baby boomer music. So much went on from the servers that didn’t understand what we were asking to the owners dancing in with a tray of fortune cookies, red envelope, and lit bday candle for my brother to blow. But man I guess I’d never forget that place, would probably never go back. I just wish there wasn’t so much msg in their food so I could’ve been productive yesterday evening and at least feel okay instead of feeling gross as I do now. Ohh brother, happy birthday.
